The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley (the Shire) is the northernmost local government area in Western Australia, extending from the Northern Territory border to the northern tip of WA.

Boab Metals is developing the Sorby Hills Project, 50km northeast of Kununurra. It holds Australia's largest undeveloped lead-silver deposit, with mining leases and EPA approval, located 150km from Wyndham Port. Boab is dedicated to building lasting relationships, focusing on social, cultural, environmental, and economic impacts in local communities.

Wayfinder Pathways supports people with disabilities in the East Kimberley as a registered NDIS provider. Their person-centred approach empowers participants while involving family and care networks. Offering grant-funded programs, they focus on capacity building and community connection, with plans to share local stories in the Kununurra Sun.
